Is CELPIP accepted for Australian visas?
Yes. Australia's Department of Home Affairs added the CELPIP test to its list of approved English tests for visa purposes, as announced by Prometric on August 6, 2025. The test is taken on a computer in one sitting and covers Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
CELPIP scores for Australian English levels
Australian visas set an English level rather than a CLB level. These are the minimum CELPIP scores for each level, as listed on celpip.ca:

Writing has the highest bar for Proficient and Superior. Superior needs a CELPIP 12 in Writing, the top score on the test, so Writing is usually where Australian applicants need the most practice.

Why Proficient and Superior matter
For skilled migration, Australia's points test gives more points for higher English levels than for Competent English. Moving from Competent to Proficient can make a real difference to your total, so many applicants aim above the minimum.
